Application form
You must complete an application form.
See: Form 1150 Application for a Working Holiday (196KB PDF file)
The application checklist on Form 1150 details the information and supporting documents you must provide with your paper application. Complete applications are likely to be processed more quickly. Incomplete applications may be delayed or, in some cases, refused.
Important: In addition to providing us with a completed Form 1150 you must also provide a certified copy of the pages of your passport containing your photo and personal details. Your application cannot be processed if you provide uncertified copies to us. If providing certified copies of this documentation is difficult you can lodge an online Working Holiday visa application.
Where to lodge your first Working Holiday visa application
Applicants can lodge a paper application by post for their first Working Holiday visa at any departmental office outside Australia.
If you are lodging a paper-based visa application in certain countries you will need to provide biometrics.
See: Countries and Visa Subclasses Included in the Biometrics Program
Where to lodge your second Working Holiday visa application
You can lodge or post a paper application for your second Working Holiday visa in or outside Australia at the Cairns processing centre.
See: Cairns Second Working Holiday Centre
Note: If you are in Australia you should lodge your application before your current visa ceases.
