Applicants have obligations that they must meet when their visa is granted.

Applicant visa conditions
If your visa was granted to enable you to be employed in Australia, you must not do any of the following:
- cease to be employed by the employer in relation to which the visa was granted
- work in a position or occupation inconsistent with the position or occupation in relation to which the visa was granted
- engage in work for another person or on your own account while undertaking the employment in relation to which the visa was granted.
In any other case, you must not do any of the following:
- cease to undertake the activity in relation to which the visa was granted
- engage in an activity inconsistent with the activity in relation to which the visa was granted
- engage in work for another person or on your own account inconsistent with the activity in relation to which the visa was granted
There may be other conditions of your entry and stay in Australia not discussed here. If so, these will be explained to you when you are granted the visa.
If a person wishes to change sponsor, a new sponsorship and visa application will be required.
Taxation requirements
You must meet Australian taxation obligations if you work or engage in employment in Australia.
If you intend to engage in work or employment in Australia, you will need to read the information available for sportspersons on the Australian Taxation Office's website.

Family member obligations
A family member:
- can enter Australia with, or after you
- can leave Australia with, or before you
- must intend to remain a member of your family unit.
Family members must abide by all Australian laws.
Change in circumstances
You must notify the department in writing of any change in your circumstances.
