This visa is designed for sportspeople to improve the quality of sport in Australia through participation in high-level competition and training with Australian residents. You may require sponsorship for this visa, depending on the purpose of your visit and your intended length of stay.
Generally sportspeople come to Australia to:
- compete in a specific event or series of events, such as competing in the Australian Tennis Open or PGA
- be involved in sport under an arrangement with a sporting club to play/coach/instruct for a season, such as playing soccer in the Hyundai A League competition.

This visa is for professional and amateur sportspeople, judges and adjudicators who want to come to Australia to participate in their field of sport.
How much will this visa cost?
In most cases you must pay a non-refundable visa application charge when you lodge your visa application.
