Application checklist

The application checklist details the information and supporting documents that you must provide with your application. If you do not lodge all of the necessary documents, a decision may be made only on the information that you have provided.

Application form

Complete Form 1383 Application for a temporary visa for retirees and attach all necessary documentation as described in the Application Checklist.

You will need to complete only one application form if you have a partner included in your application.

Character forms

You must complete and include the following character forms with your application.

AFP National Police Checks
Note: Applicants who are required to provide an Australian penal clearance certificate must complete the AFP National Police Check application form which is available from the Australian Federal Police website.

How and where to lodge your application

If you are in Australia when you lodge your application, you must be in Australia to be granted this visa.

If you are outside Australia when you lodge your application, you must be outside Australia to be granted this visa.

To make a valid visa application, you must send the application form and supporting documentation to the correct address. The preferred method of sending your application form and supporting documentation is by post, marking it to the attention of Client Services.
