If your reason for travel is not listed, select 'None of the above'.

You should only select 'To transit through Australia to a third country' if you intend to transit through Australia for up to 72 hours. If you intend to have a stopover in Australia longer than 72 hours, you must obtain another type of visa.

You should select 'For business or investment' if you are travelling to Australia for a business-related visit. For example: If you want to attend a conference or training session, conduct business with an Australian-based organisation, conduct negotiations or for an exploratory business visit.

You should select 'For temporary work or specialised activities' if you intend to work for a business as a skilled worker or work or participate in the entertainment industry, sporting activities, religious activities, staff exchange arrangements, training or research activities or international relations activities.

If you want to move to Australia permanently, permanent migration options are presented if you select 'For business or investment', 'To work permanently in Australia' or 'To live in Australia with my partner, parent, child or other family member'.

You should only select 'To maintain or regain my permanent resident status' if you are currently the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or were previously an Australian permanent resident or Australian citizen.
