Global Special Humanitarian Visa (Subclass 202)
Visa Validity Period
This visa is a permanent residence visa. A permanent resident is permitted to remain in Australia indefinitely. Initial entry to Australia must be made by the date specified on the visa. This visa also allows the applicant to travel to and from Australia for five years from the day the visa is granted.
The expiry of this visa does not affect permanent resident status if the visa holder is in Australia. However, if the visa holder wishes to continue to travel to and from Australia as a permanent resident after the initial visa has expired, they must obtain a Resident Return Visa (RRV). Eligibility for an RRV will depend on the period that the visa holder has resided in Australia.
