Students – Lodgement Procedure for Pakistani and Afghan Passport Holders

Student visa applicants from Pakistan or Afghanistan are strongly encouraged to lodge applications at least 12 weeks prior to course commencement.
Students should also allow additional time, if granted a visa, to arrange to obtain their visa label and to make travel/accommodation arrangements for Australia.
Applicants in Pakistan, Afghanistan or New Zealand
All paper student visa applications by Pakistani or Afghan passport holders in Pakistan, Afghanistan or New Zealand must be lodged through the Adelaide Offshore Student Processing Centre (AOSPC).
In PRISMS education providers should select the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) electronic destination as outlined in the table.

Note: Education providers should note that if they are faxing or mailing a hard copy of the CoE it must be sent directly to AOSPC.
Applicants who are granted a student visa by AOSPC will be advised to forward their passport with a copy of the grant letter to the Australian High Commission in Islamabad or Auckland for evidencing (placing the visa label inside the passport).
Passport holders who are outside Pakistan, Afghanistan or New Zealand
All paper student visa applications by Pakistani or Afghan nationals outside Australia who are not in Pakistan, Afghanistan or New Zealand are lodged at the nearest Australian government office overseas.
Education providers should direct Confirmations of Enrolment (CoE) to the nearest Australian government office overseas where the applicant intends to lodge their visa application.
Paying the visa application charge
The visa application charge must be paid in Australian dollars (AUD). Payment may be made by:
- credit card
- cheque
- money order.
