Response Times
Response times for applications differ depending on the assessment level of the student who nominated you as their guardian, and if the application was lodged in or outside Australia.
- If the student is Assessment Level 1 or 2 and lodged their application in Australia, you should have a response within two weeks.
- If the student is Assessment Level 1 or 2 and lodged their application outside Australia, you should have a response within three weeks.
- If the student is Assessment Level 3 or 4, you should have a response within 12 weeks.
If you are required to attend an interview, you must bring your passport and all outstanding documentation with you. Your application will be assessed at the interview and, where possible, a decision will be made.
You may also be required to have a health examination such as an x-ray or other tests.
If your visa is granted
If your visa is granted, you will receive a Notification of Grant letter by post or email. This letter contains:
- your Visa Grant Number
- the validity date of your visa
- the visa conditions.
If your visa is not granted
If your visa is not granted, you will receive a refusal letter by post or email advising you of:
- your review rights
- the time limit for lodging an appeal.
