Offshore Student eVisa Document Checklists

Only for student eVisa applications lodged outside Australia

The document checklists available on this page will help you to prepare the documentation required to lodge a student visa application on behalf of your client. A visa cannot be granted until you have provided all of the documents requested in the relevant checklists.

To find the right document checklist for your client's application, select your client's country of nationality and the course type that relates to their proposed principal course of study, then press the 'View Generic Checklist' or 'View Country Checklist' button.

You can either print the checklists, or save them to your computer.

Note: These checklists are updated to incorporate changes in legislation and policy from time to time. Please ensure that you refer to the most up-to-date versions by checking the publication date against the documents that are held here on this webpage.

There have been changes made to most checklists on 1 January 2010 to update the living cost contribution for students, student guardians and their respective dependents. Applicants may also now be required to satisfy the department that once in Australia, they have genuine access to the funds they claim to possess to cover their travel, tuition and living costs for themselves and their family members.

Note for eVisa agents lodging applications for Chinese nationals:
There has been a recent change to the PRC country specific checklist and to the Agent Declaration.  Details of this change are below - please read this carefully and ensure you complete and upload the additional information required.

Agent Declaration

You are now required to complete the Agent Declaration in both English and Chinese characters.

PRC Country Specific Checklist

This now requires you to upload additional documents. This includes:

  • Page three of the PRC country specific checklist (Additional Bank and Employment Information completed in both English and Chinese characters)
  • Bank Loan certificate (not the contract between parties) where relevant
  • Certificate of Deposit (also known as Deposit Statement) where relevant.

If you are applying for a subclass 570 - ELICOS visa the following documents must also be included:

  • The applicant's bank statements showing a consistent savings history (that is, evidence of personal savings or income)
  • The applicant's property ownership certificates (all pages) or other evidence of funds or assets.
  • For each person in the application who is in employment, a letter from their work unit authorising leave, indicating the length of employment, position held, salary and full contact details of the person who authorised the leave.

It also reminds you to upload the Agent declaration (including Pages 3 and 4) completed in both English and Chinese characters.

We have also updated the list of acceptable financial institutions on the PRC country specific checklist
