Visa Application Document Checklists
The application document checklists will assist you if you are in Australia and making an application for a student visa.
Transitional arrangements
The transitional arrangements ensure that students already studying in Australia are not disadvantaged by the 1 July 2001 changes to the student visa regulations. The regulations apply to applications lodged between 1 April 2002 and 30 December 2006.
Example: Assessment level 2 students do not have to provide results of an English language test, and only need to provide evidence of funds for the first 12 months of their stay in Australia.
Who do they apply to?
The transitional regulations may apply to you if you:
- hold a subclass 560 or 562 visa
or - have previously held a subclass 560 or 562 visa, but were granted a subclass 570-576 visa when you applied for permission to work
and - when you applied for your 560 or 562 visa, you applied for more than one course but were only granted a visa for your first course and are now applying for a further student visa to commence the remaining courses
or - you have completed at least 50% of the main course for which your student visa was granted and are now applying for a further visa in order to complete that course.
To find your application checklist, select your country according to the passport you hold, the type of visa you are requesting, then select 'View Checklist'.
You should ensure that the type of visa selected relates to your proposed principal course of study.
