Australia Needs Skills Expos Overseas

What happens at an expo?

Skilled workers attending an expo can:

  • meet Australian employers who have skill shortages
  • talk to state and territory governments who want to sponsor skilled workers
  • find out more about various visa pathways to Australia
  • attend presentations on topics, such as visa options, the visa application process, and information about living and working in the various states and territories of Australia.

When and where are the expos?

The date and location for the next Australia Needs Skills expo is yet to be announced.

Which organisations are attending the expo?

Exhibitors comprise a range of state, territory and private organisations seeking skilled workers, relevant assessing bodies and service provider companies offering relocation services.

Who should apply to attend an expo?

Skilled workers who meet the following requirements:

  • are under 45 years of age
  • have good English language skills
  • are interested in living and working in Australia
  • will be visiting or living close to the location of the expo and will not require a visa to be issued for the sole purpose of attending the expo

Do I need to register to attend?

Yes. To attend the department’s expos registration is required.  Attendance at our expos is by invitation only.

What happens after I have registered?

The final list of invitees will be determined according to occupations in high demand across Australia and the occupations needed by participating exhibitors.  If you have the skills, experience and qualifications needed by the participating exhibitors you may be invited to attend.  If there are no exhibitors attending the expo who are looking for your skills, you will not be invited.

Information on the expo venue and attendance times will be provided to invitees only.

State and territory governments have their own lists of occupations in demand in their jurisdiction.
