Your application must be supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) before you lodge your application. It is the responsibility of your employer to obtain formal support from DFAT.

Visa validity period

The visa validity period will depend on your individual circumstances and those of your employer. Your visa may be granted up to a period consistent with the length of the posting of your current employer.

Extending your stay

If your employer obtains approval from the DFAT for your stay in Australia to be extended under the same conditions, you will need to complete a new application and attach appropriate evidence.

Health insurance

Private Health Insurance is available to you and is strongly recommended, but it is not a requirement for the grant of this visa. DFAT encourages applicants to ensure that health insurance is included in their employment arrangements.
