Special Program charge
There is no charge for applying for approval as a Special Program.
How and where to apply
To apply for Special Program approval:
- address all the criteria listed in the Special Program Agreement Application Guide, and
- specify whether you are seeking approval as a youth exchange program or for a cultural enrichment/community benefits program.

Note: Schools seeking to invite people to Australia under the School to School Interchange Program (SSIP) or the School Language Assistants Program (SLAP) do not require a special program agreement before applying for special program sponsorship.
After you apply for approval
The organisation’s submission will be considered by the department. In some cases you may be asked to provide additional information to enable a decision to be made.
If approved, the department will advise you in writing and will finalise a program agreement with you.
If not approved, the department will advise you in writing.
