Special Program Visa (Subclass 416)
Primary Applicant Obligations
If your visa application for a Special Program visa (subclass 416) is approved, the following conditions will apply to you.
During your stay in Australia you must not:
- stop undertaking the activity in relation to which your visa was granted
- engage in an activity that is different to the activity in relation to which your visa was granted
- engage in work for another person or for yourself that is different to the activity in relation to which your visa was granted.
You must maintain adequate health insurance whilst in Australia.
If your sponsor ceases your employment or activity, you must do one of the following:
- find another employer who is willing to sponsor you; or
- leave Australia within 28 days unless your visa expires before that time, in which case you must leave Australia prior to visa expiry.
Change in circumstances
If your circumstances change you must inform the department (in writing) as soon as possible.
