Foreign Government Agency visa (415)
About this Visa
This visa allows the entry to Australia of representatives of:
- foreign government agencies who do not have official status in Australia
- certain foreign language teachers who are to be employed in Australia by their government or government agency.
Who is this visa for?
This visa is designed for people who:
- intend to be employed as a representative of a foreign government agency in Australia and who will not be given official status in Australia by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
- intend to be employed in Australia by a foreign government as a language teacher in an Australian school.
Applicants must be sponsored by a foreign government agency in Australia for this visa.
Note: From 14 September, people wanting to enter Australia under the terms of a bilateral agreement
are provided for by the Government Agreement Visa (subclass 406).

How much will this visa cost?
You must pay a visa application charge when you lodge your visa application.

What does this visa let me do?
With this visa you can:
- stay in Australia for an approved period of time (up to four years)
- work for a specific organisation/school in Australia
- bring any eligible secondary applicants with you to Australia
- leave and enter Australia as many times as you want while your visa is valid.
