How and where to lodge
After Form 1054 has been completed by the employer, it must be lodged with a Regional Certifying Body in their local area. They may also request additional information to be provided.
If the Regional Certifying Body is satisfied that the position meets the eligibility criteria, they will certify the nomination by stamping and signing the relevant section on the nomination application form. The form will be returned to the employer. The employer must then lodge the certified form with the department. In some cases the Regional Certifying Body may send the form directly to the department.
Form 1054 must be certified by the relevant Regional Certifying Body before it can be assessed by the department, however certification by the Regional Certifying Body does not guarantee that the nomination will be approved by the department.
