Educational Visa (Subclass 418)
The Educational visa (Subclass 418) was repealed on 14 September 2009. If you lodged a visa application prior to this date and require sponsorship, your sponsor is still able to lodge a sponsorship application using the information and links provided on this page.
If you are an educational worker intending to work in Australia, and have not already applied for a Subclass 418 visa, you should consider applying for a Subclass 457 – Business (Long Stay) visa.

The Subclass 457-Business (Long Stay) visa offers the following advantages:
- applications can be lodged online
- employers can request multiple positions under a single sponsorship
- no labour market testing is required
- a maximum stay of up to four years.
Sponsorship
Sponsorship is required if you are staying in Australia for more than three months. Sponsors must meet certain eligibility requirements to be granted a visa, and there are obligations that must be met obligations after the visa has been granted.
