How this Visa Works


This visa is for you if you have established a business in Australia while you are in Australia on a temporary visa other than a bridging visa or a criminal justice visa.

Bringing family

The following people may be included in your application:

Visa validity period

This visa is a permanent residence visa. You will be able to travel to and enter Australia for five years from the date the visa is granted. If you wish to continue to travel to and from Australia as a permanent resident after the initial visa has expired, you must obtain a Resident Return Visa (RRV).

Social security

With this visa you are unable to access social security payments.

Health

The Australian Government provides help with medical expenses and hospital care through a scheme called Medicare. As a permanent resident in Australia you may be eligible to enrol in Medicare. You should wait 10 days after you arrive, and then go to a Medicare office with your passport or travel documents.

Private Health Insurance is available to you, but it is not a requirement for the grant of this visa.

Family assistance

With this visa you are unable to access family assistance.

Special Benefit

A payment called Special Benefit may be available to you if you suffer a substantial change of circumstances beyond your control. Being unemployed, or running out of money will not qualify you for this payment.
