After You Lodge Your Application
On this page
A business visitor should not make arrangements to travel to Australia until advised that their visa has been approved.
Processing time
The usual processing time for this type of visa is one month, however, this will differ depending on your and other circumstances.
Interview requirements
The department will contact you if you are required to attend an interview. You may be requested to bring your passport and other supporting documentation to the interview.
Visa decision
If the visa is approved
If your visa is approved, the department will send you a notification of grant letter. You will need this letter when you travel to Australia as it provides:
- the visa grant number
- the validity date of the visa
- the visa conditions.
This letter may indicate whether you need to have a visa label inserted in your passport. If a visa label is required, the visitor will be advised of this requirement. You should read all the conditions listed on the visa label.
If a visa label is not required, airline staff will electronically confirm that you have the authority to travel to Australia when you check-in for your flight.
If the visa is not approved
If the visa is not approved, the department will send you a notification refusal letter. The letter will advise:
- the reasons for the refusal
- your right to seek review by the Migration Review Tribunal (MRT)
- time limits for seeking review by the MRT.
