Visa decision

Your application will usually be processed straight away. If you are required to provide additional documentation, delays will result.

If your visa is approved, a visa label will be placed in your passport or travel documents.

If your visa is not approved, you will be notified in writing if your application is refused. If you lodged your visa application in Australia you may apply for a review of the decision from the Migration Review Tribunal.

Important: Applicants outside Australia only have the right to seek a review if they have a parent, spouse, child, brother or sister who is an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident.
