Success Story - From Study Success to Permanent Migration
Aditya Tater is one of the success stories of Australia's skilled migration programme.
Aditya came to Australia in 2001 to study for his masters degree in business administration at Griffith University.
At the time he was looking forward to a career in human resource management.
The Nepalese citizen obtained considerable skills and knowledge while studying in India and Australia. After a chance meeting with a migration officer Aditya decided to pursue permanent residency in Australia through the General Skilled Migration Programme
Aditya is accustomed to new beginnings. In Nepal his family are regarded as newcomers after migrating from India only 200 years ago.
Aditya said his prospects in Australia are only limited by his 'imagination and willingness to work hard'.
After graduating from university, he accepted a senior position with Medibank Private as a state manager with the overseas student health cover unit, where he continues to work.
Aditya has maintained a keen interest in student politics. He was the first non-Indian student to hold the position of vice president of the University of Delhi's student union and in Australia he was elected by his peers to be national convenor of the National Liaison Committee for International Students.
Aditya is about to make a further commitment to his new homeland—his application for Australian citizenship has been approved.
