Summary of findings for LSIA 2

Long term health conditions are a significant issue with Humanitarian migrants - over a third of Primary Applicants from this group had at least one long term medical condition. In comparison, only about 7% of other migrants had long term health problems.

The general health of Humanitarian migrants is worse also. In Wave 1 and Wave 2, only around 70% of Primary Applicants from the Humanitarian group said they were in good or very good health compared with 93% of Primary Applicants from other groups. They also visit the doctor more often - an average of 1.2 visits per month per Primary Applicant. This is more than double the rate for Primary Applicants from other groups.
