Summary of findings for LSIA 2
Migrants are generally very well educated. Among Primary Applicants, 43% had a bachelor degree or better and 27% had a trade or technical qualification.
Virtually all Primary Applicants who sought to have their qualifications assessed during Wave 1 and Wave 2 were successful - 99% had their qualification recognised.
They were also young - over 90% of those seeking assessment were aged less than 35. Over half were Independent migrants.
The assessment process was quick - 7 weeks on average.
