Summary of findings for LSIA 2

Overall, 52% of migrants are female, although they make up only 48% of Primary Applicants.

Migrants also tend to be young. For males the most common age cohort at Wave 1 is 30-34 years of age, for females it is 25-29. Some 22% of migrants are aged less than 15 and only 2% are aged 65 or more.

Migrants are usually either married (55% of all migrants at Wave 1) or never married (42% of all migrants). Only 3% of migrants are divorced/separated or widowed. For Primary Applicants the corresponding figures are 74% married, 21% never married and 5% divorced/separated or widowed.
