Sample Reports from LSIA 2

Tables and charts for LSIA 2

Tables and charts from LSIA 2 are arranged under the following 10 themes:

A note on the tables and charts

Most of these tables and charts report on changes between Wave 1 and Wave 2 of the LSIA - for example changes in the employment rate between Waves. In reporting these movements, only people who were interviewed in both waves are included in this sort of analysis.

In other words people who were not interviewed in Wave 2 are excluded.

An analysis that does include people who were not interviewed in Wave 2, would draw on a larger sample but would be harder to interpret. For example if the unemployment rate drops between Wave 1 and Wave 2, a contributing factor could be a large number of migrants who left Australia because they could not find a job, and were therefore were not interviewed in Wave 2.

By only including those people who were interviewed in both waves, the effect described above is removed, giving a more precise measure of change.

However, it should also be noted that some tables - in particular those looking at Demographic characteristics only look at Wave 1 data. In these cases people are included in the analysis whether or not they were interviewed in Wave 2.
