Report of the 2000-02 review
The report, IN AUSTRALIA'S INTERESTS - A Review of the Temporary Residence Program, was published following the department's review into the operation of Australia's Temporary Entry program.
The June 2002 report makes a number of recommendations directed at:
- policy clarification;
- structural changes including abolition of some visas;
- standardising requirements;
- improving sponsorship arrangements; and
- streamlining processing.
