Immigration visits Geraldton and Moora

Media Release – 5 September 2008

The regional outreach officer from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) will be Geraldton and Moora next week.

The visits are part of a regular outreach program conducted by the department and anyone with an immigration or citizenship matter they wish to discuss is urged to take advantage of the visits.

'Outreach trips are a great way for people in regional areas to sit down and talk about immigration-related issues face-to-face with a DIAC officer,' a departmental spokesman said.

'These appointments attract a range of people from small business owners, overseas retirees, community groups to individuals, who might want information or just someone to talk them through a complex matter.

'While the department has a great deal of information available over the phone or online, some people prefer to speak to officers face-to-face and these visits are about meeting that need.'

Appointments can be made by telephoning 08 9415 9180.
