DIAC Industry Outreach Officer visit to Roma
Media Release - 28 March 2008
The The Industry Outreach Officer from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) will be conducting an information evening in Roma on Tuesday April 1.
The information evening is part of regular outreach trips conducted by the department.
'Outreach trips are a great way for people in regional areas to sit down and talk about immigration-related issues face-to-face with DIAC officers,' a departmental spokesman said.
'While the department has a great deal of information available over the phone or on the Internet, some people prefer to speak to officers face-to-face, and these visits are about meeting that need.'
There will be a focus on what the Australian Government measures aimed at assisting Australian businesses with labour force issues will mean for regional employers and how they affect Roma.
The information evening will be held at Roma Bungil Cultural Centre on the corner of Quintin and Bungil Streets from 6-7pm.
Interested people can be RSVP by telephoning 07 4622 9231.
