Department Takes Services to Bateman's Bay

Media Release - DPS 47/2002

The ACT Regional Office of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) will be conducting a Regional Outreach Information Session in Bateman's Bay on Thursday, 8 August.

The visit to Bateman's Bay is part of the Office's Regional Outreach Program involving periodic visits from Departmental representatives to regional areas of both the ACT and the southern third of NSW. The program incorporates general and topical information sessions as well as individual client appointments as a means of enhancing access to DIMIA services.

The information session is particularly designed for service providers, clients and other interested parties seeking information regarding DIMIA services. The individual client appointments will enable people in the community to seek immigration information of a more personal nature.

The Regional Outreach Session will be conducted at The Bateman's Bay Library and Access Centre, Hanging Rock, Bateman's Bay commencing at 12noon and concluding at 1.30pm. Individual appointments will commence at 2pm and continue until 4pm.

The information session will cover issues relating to temporary migration, including students, business and skilled entry, family migration, Australian Citizenship applications and requirements and settlement services.

Following the information session, client service officers of the Department will be available for appointments with clients who have booked in advance. Those wishing to book an appointment with a client service officer can do so by phoning the Public Access Unit of the ACT Regional Office on (02) 6274 4596 before 5pm Tuesday, 6 August.
