Migration Information Session

Representatives from business, industry, educational institutions, State and local government from Mildura and surrounding areas attended an information session on regional and State-specific migration issues in Mildura today.

The session was held by key staff of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs' Melbourne Business Centre, together with a representative of the Victorian Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development.

Several migration categories were discussed, including the Regional Sponsored migration Scheme, State/Territory Nominated Independent, Regional Established Business, Skilled-Designated Area Sponsored and the Skill Matching visa.

The session also provided information and advice on Temporary Residence options for skilled people seeking to work or establish business in Australia.

The seminar highlighted the Department's priority to regional areas by providing advice and assistance to regional employers and business to resolve skill shortages through sponsoring overseas specialists.
