Media Alert Migration: Benefiting Australia Invitation to Attend a Major Immigration and Population Issues Conference

The Minister for Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs Philip Ruddock will host a major conference on immigration and population in Sydney on May 7-8 at the Australian Technology Park.

Open to the public, the conference will deliver new research and informed discussion on a range of topics including:

To address these issues, Mr Ruddock will be joined by Prof John Salt of London University, Dr Alexander Casella of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, Professors Sue Richardson, Peter McDonald, Steve Dowrick, Graeme Hugo and Ross Garnaut along with Chris Richardson of Access Economics.

Mr Ruddock will also announce the 2002-03 migration and humanitarian programs.
