Department Takes Services to the Central West

Media Release - DPS 16/2000

Representatives of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) will visit communities in the Central West of New South Wales this week (8 to 10 August) as part of an ongoing commitment to provide immigration services in regional and rural communities.

Departmental representatives will meet with interested people for face to face interviews in Bathurst, Cowra, Forbes, Parkes, Orange and Lithgow. They will be able to discuss any immigration topic ranging from sponsoring spouses, citizenship, visitor visas and business sponsorship. People interested in attending are encouraged to make appointments with the centre of their choice. A general information session will also be held in Lithgow.

The department representatives will also meet with Members of Parliament and their staff to discuss local issues and department services.

The regional and rural service strategy aims to take a range of DIMA services, including information dissemination and client interviews, to regions throughout New South Wales on a regular, ongoing basis.
