DIMA takes services to New England region

Media Release - DPS 11/2000

Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) representatives will visit the New England region this week as part of a strategy and ongoing commitment to provide immigration services to regional and rural communities.

DIMA staff will meet individual clients at Tamworth on Tuesday, 2 May and at Armidale on Wednesday, 3 May.

As well, they will conduct meetings at Singleton, Muswellbrook and Gunnedah on route today, Monday, 1 May.

The exercise will provide the opportunity for federal parliamentarians, their staff, service providers and other key stakeholders to discuss local issues and departmental services.

DIMA's regional and rural service strategy aims to regularly take throughout NSW the Department's services, immigration and citizenship information, and to provide the opportunity for client interviews.
