Fire damages DIMA operations in Perth

A fire in the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs' offices in Perth's Northbridge Tax Office building on Friday, 14 January 2000, has resulted in severe damage to power, voice and data communications.
The Department wishes to reassure clients that all data and records held by the office are safe from damage.
The office will be open on Monday, 17 January, offering a reduced level of service. This reduction in services is likely to continue at least until Monday, 24 January. Clients with non-urgent business are requested to delay contact with the office until at least this time.
