No Children in Detention
Letter to the Editor - Courier Mail

Paul Syvret’s statement that children are ‘still detained behind razor wire’ is wrong (Viewpoint, Aug 25). No children have been in immigration detention centres since mid-2005 and there is no razor wire at any immigration detention facility except for stage one at Villawood, which is used to accommodate higher-risk people in detention. Razor wire will be completely removed from stage one as part of Villawood’s current redevelopment.
