IT rumour way off the mark

The Informant’s ‘Beyond the Firewall - IT rumours and gossip’ (2/9/08) suggested that rumour has it Immigration’s relationship with IBM is on “rocky ground”.

For the record, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship commenced its relationship with IBM more than two years ago (on 1 July 2006 in fact).  We are now two years through a four year contract.  The latest quality performance review (completed in August) reported the relationship at the strongest level since its inception.

Our apologies for spoiling a silly rumour with the facts.
