Jury is not out on 457 visa program

Dear Sir,
The article in the Kalgoorlie Miner (Fury over 457 visa changes, 26/7/08) might lead readers to believe the issue of proposed changes to the subclass 457 visa program were a fait accompli.
That is wrong. A discussion paper circulated by the Department of the Immigration and Citizenship called for input and feedback from the community.
Feedback on the discussion paper closed on July 16 and will be considered by the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship in due course.
