Letter to the Editor - The West Australian
17 August 2006
Dear Sir/Madam
Your report claiming people entering Australia on international student visas are not tested for tuberculosis (Trainee pilots tested after TB case, 12/08/06) was wrong.
The claim was attributed to WA Health Department spokesperson Dr Shirley Bowen.
All temporary visa applicants (including international students) are tested for tuberculosis if they are from a country with medium, high or very high risk of tuberculosis.
Yours sincerely,
Sandi Logan
