'Court frees refugee'

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to point out that in your recent article 'Court frees refugee' (The Sunday Mail, 1/09/02), you have incorrectly described Mr Akram Al Masri as a 'refugee'.

Mr Al Masri sought asylum in Australia, was assessed against the UN Convention for Refugees and did not meet the criteria. Accordingly, he is not a refugee.
