Using VEVO

To use VEVO, you must have a Transaction Reference Number (TRN) or password.

If you do not have a TRN or a password, or have forgotten your TRN or password, contact the department to get a new password.

What is VEVO?

VEVO means you no longer need a visa label in your passport; both visa holders and organisations use VEVO.

Visa holders

VEVO is a free online facility available for visa holders to check their current visa details. VEVO enables visa holders, who do not have a label in their passport, to confirm their visa details.

Organisations

VEVO is used by organisations to check the visa status of visa holders applying for work, study, licenses and access to Government services such as Medicare.

How do I access VEVO?

Enquiries can be made online. You will need a TRN, or a password. Along with your:

  • date of birth,
    Note: Date of birth should be entered as d/month/yyyy
  • passport number and
  • country of passport.

To make an enquiry, your browser must support 128 bit encryption. You can check your browser if you experience problems connecting to these services.

What information does VEVO provide?

Visa holders

VEVO provides information about your current visa status.

It details:

  • your visa class and subclass
  • your visa grant and expiry dates
  • your visa grant number
  • entries allowed and
  • all conditions applicable to your visa.

Organisations

VEVO only provides limited information to organisations that may check your visa status, with your consent. Organisations do not see the same level or detail of information about your visa status.
