Help for proposers - In the first week, you should:
- Follow up on any health needs.
- Provide somewhere for the new arrival and any family members they have to live.
- Provide guidance to them on how to use telephones and house appliances.
- Meet with an IHSS case manager to develop a case management plan.
- Set up bank accounts and explain banking services.
- Take the new arrival to Centrelink.
- Take the new arrival to Medicare.
- Show the new arrival how to use the translating and interpreting services.
- Show the new arrival around their local area including their local doctor and hospital.
- Take the new arrival to the local shop and show them how to purchase food.
