Who can Use the SGP?
You can receive help under the SGP if you came to live in Australia in the last five years and:
- are a humanitarian entrant
- came to live with your family and your English is at a low level
- belong to a group with large numbers of people still coming from your homeland
- are a dependent of a skilled migrant living in a regional or rural area and your English is at a low level
How Can Organisations Help You?
Organisations can help you get information about other services available to help you with your daily needs, such as:
- learn to speak English
- find a house to live in
- find a job
- find people to care for your children
- enrol your children in school
- go to the doctor
Organisations also:
- help new community groups get started
- work with other service providers to provide culturally appropriate services to you
