All requests for on-site bookings must be made in writing via the on-site booking form well before the date the interpreter is required, and returned by mail, email or fax to TIS National.

On-site bookings are taken for appointments up to three months in advance of the date of request for fee-paying clients. Agencies that receive a fee free service may only book an on-site service up to 28 days in advance of the appointment.

Cancellations must be made in writing, at least 24 hours prior to the appointment or the client will be charged. The minimum cancellation fee is 1.5 hours unless the booking was for a specifically longer period. A booking for multiple-day interpreting with less than 24 hours cancellation notice will attract a cancellation fee equivalent to a full day's work including interpreter travel time and costs.

Note: you can phone TIS National for the cost of a local call throughout Australia, however, mobile phones may attract a higher call rate.

The Australian Government, through TIS National, also provides free interpreting for certain individuals and groups who need translating and interpreting services. Please see the free services section for more information and to determine your eligibility.
