The bridge the communication gap brochure provides general information about the need for interpreters and how to use interpreting services.
A guide to services brochure
The guide to services brochure gives more specific details on TIS National and department funded fee-free services and eligible individuals or groups.
TIS National multilingual poster
Displaying the TIS National multilingual poster in a prominent position in your agency will help clients to identify agencies with access to TIS National interpreting services. The poster is 594mm x 420mm (A2 paper size).
I need an interpreter card
The I need an interpreter card is designed to assist non English speakers request an interpreter when they need to communicate with an English speaker. Once a client's language has been identified (see Language card below) the relevant section on the card can be filled out for the client's future use. The cards are wallet-sized and convenient to carry.
Language card
The language card is a tool to help you identify a client's required language. You can show a client the language card to help identify their language from the 23 high-demand languages listed.
Note: TIS National has access to interpreters from over 160 languages and dialects.
This card can be used in conjunction with the I need an interpreter cards. Once a client's language has been identified, the relevant section on the I need an interpreter card can be filled out for the client's future use.
TIS National business cards
The TIS National business cards are intended for the use of participating agencies. These cards are a convenient way of keeping the TIS National phone number easily accessible should you require an interpreter.
TIS National stickers
The TIS National stickers are another way of ensuring the TIS National phone number is easily accessible. These stickers are designed to fit along the handset of your telephone with a space for your agency's client code for future reference.
Automated Telephone Interpreting Service (ATIS) help card
The ATIS card provides information on how to access interpreters in 18 high demand languages. TIS National offers a 10 per cent discount on ATIS calls, so using ATIS is an excellent opportunity for clients to reduce interpreter costs.
Note: To use ATIS, you need an ATIS account number and an ATIS access number. These can be obtained by completing an ATIS application form which can be downloaded from.

TIS National Promotional DVD
A three part promotional DVD is a useful training resource for organisations that work with interpreters. It also provides a simple guide for accessing interpreters through TIS National.
The DVD is available for viewing on ImmiTV, the department’s YouTube channel by following the links from TIS National Promotional DVD.
