I am 19 years old and from a refugee background in Sri Lanka.

I came to Australia in 2007 and I was on a protection visa. I decided to study English. I think it is the best way to become part of the Australian society.

The AMEP course has good memories for me. Every student came from a different background and they spoke many languages. It was really a multicultural class, which was amazing. I made many friends at the AMEP class.

The teachers were very friendly. They assisted me to achieve my goals. I have learnt not only English but I also learnt about Australian values, culture and way of life.

Thanks to my AMEP teachers and the counsellor! The AMEP counsellor showed me a pathway to achieve my goals. I am studying Community Service at Ultimo TAFE campus and I will proceed to go to university for further studies when I finish my TAFE Diploma.
