Funding Agreement
Successful Settlement Grants Program (SGP) applicants are required to enter into a Funding Agreement with the department.
What is a Funding Agreement?
The Funding Agreement is a legal document that outlines the terms, conditions and obligations of funding, service delivery, accountability for both the department and the funded agency. A sample Funding Agreement is provided below.

Authorised Representative
Each funded organisation nominates at least one person, usually a Chairperson or equivalent, who signs the Funding Agreement on behalf of the organisation.
Approved Budget
The amount of SGP funding offered may be less than the amount requested in an application. In such cases, organisations will be asked to revise their Work Program and budget in line with the funding offered. The approved revisions are attached to the Funding Agreement as Schedules.
Funding Arrangements
The following funding arrangements are in place under the SGP:
- Funded organisations can use SGP funding only to deliver the project for which funding is offered. SGP funding cannot be used for any other purpose
- Funds are paid by instalment at the beginning of each quarter
- Continued payment of funds is contingent on the organisation's management of the funds and performance in delivering the project
- The funded organisation must return all unspent or uncommitted funds to the department at the end of a grant.
Organisations are expected to use sound financial practices in managing SGP funds.
