The application timetable for the 2012–13 Settlement Grants Program is in the table below.

Applicants apply for a secure password for online applications. Note: Applicants are encouraged to apply for passwords to ensure sufficient time to complete their applications. |
| Funding round opens Applications open 9 am AEDT 15 December 2011 |
Funding round is advertised and applications invited. Applications can be submitted from this time until the round closes. Applications must be submitted online. |
| Information Sessions Week beginning 12 December 2011 |
Applicant information sessions are provided in each state and territory. |
| Round closes Applications close 5 pm AEDT 1 February 2012 |
All applications must be lodged by this date. Note: The department will not accept late applications. |
| Supporting documentation By close of business 15 February 2012 |
All mandatory supporting documentation must be lodged to the relevant state or territory office. |
| Assessment February 2012 to April 2012 |
All eligible applications assessed. |
| Parliamentary secretary announcement May 2012 |
The Parliamentary Secretary for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs is expected to announce the outcome. All applicants advised in writing of the outcome of their applications. |
| Negotiation of funding agreements June 2012 |
The department negotiates Approved Work Programs and Approved Budgets which form part of Funding Agreements with successful organisations. |
| Agreements signed 1 July 2012 |
Grants commence. |
