Queensland is situated in the north east corner of Australia. The climate ranges from sub-tropical in the south to tropical in the north and is perfect for the outdoor lifestyle that Queenslanders enjoy such as open parklands, water activities, sidewalk dining, bike and walking tracks, surfing or relaxing on beautiful sandy beaches. The annual average temperature is between 22.3°C and 34.6°C with a rainfall average of 1200mm in the north and 800mm in the south of the state.

Where will my child go to school?

You can send your child/children to public (state government) or private (also known as independent) schools. Most public schools are co-educational, with girls and boys encouraged to participate equally in class. Many private schools are either exclusively all boy or all girl schools. What health services are available?

Queensland is divided into health zones which are subdivided into Health Districts. Each Health District is serviced by one or more base hospitals. The Queensland Government provides a variety of community-based and state-based health care services, such as quit smoking, breast screening, the Home and Community Care program and early intervention mental health programs.
