Finding employment and housing in regional Australia
Are you looking for a job?
Job vacancies are advertised in the Positions Vacant part of the classifieds section of newspapers, especially on Saturday and Wednesday. The job advertisement will usually tell you how to apply, and the name of a person to contact for further information. Private employment agencies may be placement agencies that receive a fee from the employer, for placing you. Alternatively they could be labour hire agencies, which pay you and provide your services to another company or organisation.
Job vacancies can also be found on the internet. The listings will usually
tell you how to apply, and the name of a person to contact for further information.
Some sites may also allow you to apply for the vacancy online. The Australian
Government provides a service called Australian JobSearch (AJS). AJS aims to
give all job seekers the best possible access to the biggest choice of jobs.

Are you looking for housing information?
Housing in regional Australia varies in size, price and style depending on the
region and the state you choose. Homes are sometimes sold directly by private
owners, but more often they are sold by Real Estate agents. Most Real Estate
agents offer a free catalogue advertising housing for sale and many also place
their advertisements on the internet. Rental properties will aso be available
through Real Estate agents. Properties for sale or rent will generally be advertised
in newspapers, especially on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
