Humanitarian Entrants - What documents do I need to travel to Australia ?
The grant of a visa means that you get a Document for Travel to Australia (DFTA). The DFTA is an important document that is valid for one entry only. You must not tamper with or change the DFTA in any way. The DFTA is not valid if the photographs are missing or changed, or if it is laminated. A photocopy is not valid for use.
If the DFTA is lost or stolen, you must report this to the Australian Embassy or High Commission as soon as possible. You must keep your DFTA safe at all times. The DFTA must be correct, as it is your evidence for access to Centrelink and health services in Australia.
Bring with you any original documents such as, birth, marriage, medical, and education records. You need your passport for travel also.
